• Averaged about 4mph on the river
• USGS 02098198 HAW R BELOW B. EVERETT JORDAN DAM NR MONCURE, NC - Gage Height - 5.80 ft.
• USGS 02102178 CAPE FEAR R AT BUCKHORN DAM NR CORINTH, NC - Gage Height - 1.75 ft.
• Looks as though we were on the river as the Corps of Engineers was doing a release from Jordan Lake
• The river was remarkably clean
• The put-in was at the end of the tailrace on the river right. There was a 20 ft. bank to drop down.

Wildlife

• There were numerous river birds for the first 2 miles
  • Great Blue Heron
  • Bald Eagles (immature)
  • Perhaps an Osprey
  • Seagulls
• Belted Kingfishers
